West Michigan Invitational Tournament Update

We would like to thank those who registered to participate in our West Michigan Invitational scheduled for June 12-14. We appreciate your continued support of our tournaments!

Unfortunately, with Michigan’s current COVID-19 Stay-At-Home order, we are faced with many uncertainties and have no idea whether or not we are going to be able to hold a June tournament in a safe manner. Therefore we have decided to move the West Michigan Invitational to July 24-26.

We understand that this date may or may not work for your teams schedule and apologize for the inconvenience, but as you know this pandemic is changing at an hourly rate.

If the July weekend does not work for you, please send an email to lybsaboard@gmail.com along with cc’ing lybsa.treasurer@gmail.com to submit your refund request.

2020 Season Status/Update

We are anxious to get the season started and LYBSA is working diligently to make that happen.  In an effort to keep everyone up to date, I would like to outline some decisions that were made at our 4/29/2020 board meeting.

 LYBSA 2020 Recreation Season

Given the fluid nature of the COVID-19 pandemic it is difficult to determine an actual start date for the season.  With that said LYBSA established a “last resort” date.  If we are unable to be on the field in a safe manner by June 22 we will be forced to cancel the season.  Waiting longer would cause our season to overlap with fall sports (football, soccer, cheer, etc.) which is not feasible for our LYBSA families and athletes.

In the event we are able to start June 22 or sooner the anticipated season will be six-weeks and provide as many games as possible.  Our current plan would attempt to provide 12 games per participant.  Every effort to have a “normal” season will be made, but things such as uniforms and pictures may be delayed.

Once again, we understand that our proposed timetable may not align with established or perspective family summer plans.  Refunds, less transaction fees incurred during the initial registration, will be issued if the proposed season will not work for your athlete.

Refund requests should be directed to the following:

Baseball/Tball: Gary Zech

Softball:  Adam Stump

We hope to see you all on the field in 2020.

Best Regards,
Alfonso Chavez
LYBSA President

COVID-19 Update - 4/5/2020

LYBSA RECREATIONAL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL UPDATE - 4/5/2020

We hope everyone is well and healthy during these uncharted times.  Due to COVID-19 the start date for the LYBSA recreation season is postponed until further notice.  Additionally all LYBSA facilities are closed to promote adherence to executive orders 2020-11, 2020-20, and 2020-21.  Please know that the health and safety of our young baseball and softball players, along with their families, is our highest priority.  We continue monitoring the recommendation of local, state, and national governments/agencies regarding when a season could commence in a safe and responsible manner.

LYBSA 2020 AFFILIATE TEAMS UPDATE – 4/5/2020

Please contact your coach directly for questions regarding your team’s schedule for the 2020 season.  As a clear reminder all LYBSA facilities are CLOSED until further notice.

LYBSA 2020 BASEBALL/SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT UPDATE – 4/5/2020
